Changelog
Patch details and release notes
We have revamped Automations based on usage and user feedback.
#### Important Updates:
**Full backward compatibility:** Automation Workflows 3.0 is fully compatible with previous versions. Current automation will continue using the 2.0 UI, while new automation will adopt the 3.0 UI.
**Future migration:** A migration from 2.0 to 3.0 is planned for a future date.
**No backend/API changes:** There have been no changes to the backend or API.
#### Key changes:
**Left-to-right flow:** The automation canvas now includes various new controls such as zoom options, presets, and an auto-arrange feature for nodes. These controls are consistently placed, following Heron patterns.
**Summary-based nodes:** Nodes no longer contain fields and inputs. Instead, selecting a node reveals all configurable fields and options in the right panel. The node displays a dynamic description of its content for easier at-a-glance reading, allowing more nodes to fit on the canvas.
**New Switch node:** Simplify your workflow by adding all notification cases in one node. Eliminate stacked “if” statements with the new switch node, which supports multiple cases.
**One trigger:** The new trigger node is non-deletable and can be configured to match any trigger requirements.
**Auto-format:** Use the auto-format feature to automatically organize all nodes on the canvas. Nodes remain freeform and can be moved individually as needed.
